Jao All Over Long Lasting Natural Body Goe Oil

I hate you Jao. Because I love you too much. I wish I had a free lifetime supply because then I wouldn’t be so miserly when applying you. At 30z a tube, it’s just not enough when all I want to do is repeatedly dip myself head to toe in a vat of you. In fact, that is one of the many reasons why I’m obsessed with this decadent indulgence. You can apply Jao’s All OverNatural Body Goe Oil anywhere and everywhere. Hands, feet, face, lips, legs, hair. This super thick cream melts into an oil and sinks right into the skin, for deep penetrating hydration that’s never greasy, heavy or sticky. And best of all, it doesn’t fade after a few hours. My skin still feels nourished and moisturized a full 24 hours later. It tames flyaways, adds shine to your hair,  nourishes cuticles and cracked heels, soothes irritated skin. All that and it’s exceptional as an aftershave cream, calming and replenishing the skin with zero irritation, zero stinging.

Derived from 28 plant fruit and flower oils and butters, Goe is 100% truly natural and organic. Just look at the ingredients.  100% pure. Hemp, Kukuinut, Chamomile, Rosehip, Meadowfoam, Grapeseed, Mango, Pumpkin, Jojoba, Shea and the list goes on. A powerhouse rich in omegas, essential fatty acids, and vitamins A, E, C, B, G, and Beta Carotene. Luckily the smallest amount goes a long way, which makes the list price of $38 go down a little bit easier.

In these wintery months, dehydrated skin becomes the norm, but Jao’s Goe will put an end to that. The results are immediate from the very first application. And the light Tahitian Monoi scent will become an instant addiction. It will lift you into a euphoric state and your skin will thank you for it!

Bon Voyage Beauty!

The dreaded international flight. How to do right by your skin while 30,000 feet in the air for 10 hours? Just read on!

PRE-FLIGHT PREP

As important as it is to stay hydrated on a regular basis by drinking water it is doubly as important when you are getting ready to and while flying. Try to double up on your water in-take in the days leading up to your flight. If you aren’t regularly taking a fish oil then add it into your daily regime. The fatty acids in fish oil are proven to both help the brain and cardiovascular function and help skin cells retain moisture. It’s a good idea to also throw some in your carry-on for in-flight or during your time away. It’s a powerful punch for something that doesn’t take up valuable shopping space in luggage.

IN FLIGHT OPERATION

Even if you pick a couple of these tips it will do wonders for your arrival.

1. Drink lots of water even if it means getting up multiple times to the frustration to the aisle passenger.

2. Drink hot water with lemon, refreshing, hydrating, and lemon is key to metabolic boosting!

3. Use a Hydrating mist every few hours to keep your skin feeling refreshed and stop it from getting tight. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater
Price: $11.95

4. During the flight, in addition to spritzing your mist, try to re-apply your moisturizer.  The constant air conditioning can suck the life out of your skin, so even if your skin is usually oily, you’ll notice it absorbing moisturizers much faster.

5. Apply lip balm. The same applies for the lips in that the cabin air will suck the nourishment up so try Smith’s Rosebud Salve, $6.00 or Caudalie Lip Conditioner, $12.00 both available at Sephora.

6. Sanitize – A breeding ground for germs it’s important to make sure you land healthy on the other end. The worst would be to find yourself on an amazing vacation and coming down with a cold 2 days later. Sanitize your hands with  L’Occitane Lavender Clean Hand Gel from the Provence to Go Collection, $7.00.

FAVORITE TRAVEL KITS

Trilogy Travellers takes the hassle out of packing and has everything you need to land with a glow. Plus I love the packaging! $37.00

Dermalogica Skin Kits have all the benefits of a full regimen… to go. Featuring convenient travel sizes in a durable travel pouch, your Skin Kit allows you to hit the road safe in the knowledge that you’re packing a full regimen of products. 35.00.

UPON LANDING

Before you land give yourself a quick face wash with either a rinse free cleanser or a cleanser wipe. Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes $4.99 are some of my favorite nourishing wipes! They are non-comedogenic, use no alcohol, and have the added benefits of PRO-VITAMIN B5 which are known to help restore, soften and smooth skin.

Then make sure to re-apply your moisturizer and touch up your make-up with the bare minimum. To mask the jet lag try a concealer, YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch, $40, to cover up dark circles and redness. Then add a couple coats of mascara, such as Covergirl LashBlast Length Mascara, $6.94, to open up your eyes. And lastly, a lip or cheek stain in a soft pink or peach shade to hide any redness from the flight. If you go with a creme it also has the added benefit of creating a dewy look with appears more youthful and energized. It’s better to look clean and effortless while traveling.

Bon Voyage ladies… arrive in style!

3 Beauty Tips from MakeUp Artist, Jenny Karl

1. The Many Magical Powers of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

It’s chemical free and has many uses other than for cooking. Here are some effective ones!

     a. Warm a small bowl of the oil and soak your nails for 5-10 minutes to strengthen your nails and soften the skin.

     b. Massage the skin using a mixture of the oil and fresh rosemary to soothe sore muscles.

     c. For chronically dry hair only, apply a small amount of the oil to your hair for 5 minutes as a deep conditioner. Rinse thoroughly.

2. The key to a great makeup look starts with your skin underneath.

Keep your skin hydrated, clean, and moisturized. Don’t forget the skin on the neck and under the eyes, and tailor your skincare to meet your own skin needs. Also, if you use your hands to put on your makeup, please please please make sure they are very clean! Also, if you use brushes, don’t forget to wash them as well every so often. You can buy solution to keep them sanitary in most beauty supply stores or use a clarifying shampoo such as baby shampoo! Easy!

 3. Big, bold false Eyelashes are in this season.

A great technique I have found, is using my finger to help pop the lashes up after gluing them with duo lash glue to get them as close to root as possible and give a great lift. Then I go through and separate the lashes and draw out the ends with an eyebrow/lash brush/comb. I love deep black lashes but you can have some fun with colors like rich browns and sables. Also try playing with colored mascara, such as bright blues or more subtle plums! We also forget about the bottom lashes sometimes, so once your top lashes are dry, you can easily swipe your wand back and forth on the bottom to draw those bottoms out as well.

Gehwol Fusskraft Leg Vitality

One of the most unfussy lotions I’ve ever used! From the packaging and ingredients, to the clean non-greasy legs I’m left with. Gehwol was born in 1868 in Lübbecke, Germany and has since become a synonym for foot-care. Their line is comprehensive for all different foot care needs from hard skin, athletes foot, foot odor, and more. It is also dermatologically tested and suitable for diabetics.

I was originally drawn to the somewhat medicinal packaging and the avocado on the tube, implying it uses natural ingredients. Which, Gehwol mostly does. They do not claim to be 100% natural but most of their products are of natural origin. The leg vitality in particular was intriguing to me for it’s daily use and moisture balancing for dry legs.

I use it almost daily at night after long days on my feet for work, working out, or just de-stressing from the day. I apply before going to bed, which is one of the main reasons why I love this lotion. Because it absorbs so quickly and is non-greasy so I have no issue with quickly slipping under the covers after applying. The claims of having a soothing effect are correct and it leaves my skin refreshed, moisturized, and not broken out by heavy lotions. It has a mild powdery scent which is clean and doesn’t linger like perfume. As my life is about to pick up with travel I’m glad I’ll have this lotion in my artillery of products to count on!

Ingredients: Precious avocado oil, algae extracts, and vitamin E provide the special skin-friendly properties of Leg Vitality. Allantoin and the chamomile component bisabolene support the caring properties and strengthen the mildly deodorising effect of the herbal agents. Hamamelis – an extract from the Virginian witch hazel bush – soothes irritation and prevents wrinkles.

Weleda Skin Food

Skin Food is truly food for parched skin! Nothing cures flaky patches better. Dry elbows, knees, lips, hands, feet have met their match with this certified natural ointment. Say goodbye to chapped lips, cracked heels and callouses. Overnight, the essential fatty acids and Vitamin E in this intensive, super-moisturizing balm will heal and restore over-stressed, dry skin.

Drawbacks? The thick texture and herby scent might feel greasy and overwhelming to some, but both subside. Personally, I love to slather Skin Food on for baby-soft, resilient skin. I prefer to use this at night to really let it soak in, but it does impart a nice sheen for the daytime, if you like that look. The results? Consistently smooth, radiant and well-fed skin.

Tips:

Really work/rub it with your fingers before applying it on your face or body.

Mix a bit into your foundation and then apply for a gorgeous, well-nourished, hydrated glow.

Pat some in under your eyes overnight. Any puffiness will have subsided by the time you get up.
