The Sexiest Woman in the Room by Perfumer Natalie Bolton

As women, we ALWAYS spot the sexiest woman in the room. There are some core key factors that are in place. She dresses well, maybe even a bit controversial. She owns herself and the room with ease. And if you have the pleasure to get to close enough to her in proximity you might be graced with a waft of her “essence”.

A confident woman chooses her fragrance wisely.
To express her truth.
To push her own envelope.
What could possibly be any sexier?

Scent is so magical to me which is why I created Corpus Dei Perfumes to encourage women to live in their power. The aroma-therapeutic properties of pure essential oils can heal your body at the surface and even soothe you down to your soul. Just think of a time when a familiar scent warmed your heart and took you immediately back to a sacred time.
And since we are quickly welcoming fall, I am going to give you a few suggestions to help you become “fall fragrance ready”. With some of my perfume picks and a few of my favorite essential oils and their magical healing properties –you are sure to have a slew of  opulent olfactory options to wrap yourself up in.

Here are some of my favorites:
VETIVER: It is a warm and earthy scent so if you’re bold you might like experimenting with a fragrance that holds vetiver. This oil has a soothing effect on the nervous system. So you can calm yourself and simultaneously tame your prey to obey your every command!
PATCHOULI: This is my absolute favorite, and I know people have a love or hate relationship with this oil. This oil is also an earthy scent that is quite a powerful aphrodisiac, not to mention its mood enhancing properties. There are so many fragrances that hold patchouli, as it is a fixed oil that supports the fragrant release of other scents in which it is blended. So give a patchouli -based fragrance a try for fall. If you’re feeling exceptionally saucy, go ahead lift your mood and “lift” something else, if you know what I’m sayin’. It’s a very sexual scent.
SANDALWOOD: Aaah, sandalwood. This oil is rich, woody, and smooth. It has such a pleasant, non-intrusive smell that this may be a first choice if you are still afraid of patchouli. Sandalwood is extremely sexy and welcoming. If you feel like going out and being in control, a sandalwood blend might be perfect for you. Just be ready to welcome all those smitten suitors!
BERGAMOT: This oil is a very beautiful scent. It is citrus-y with a hint of floral spice. It creates an exotic yet graceful fragrance when it is blended with complimentary notes. It also has anti-depressant qualities that are sure to put you in the right zone. Bergamot blended with vanilla creates a smooth, buttery “so good you can taste it” smell…So this oil is perfect for the time when you are ready for that “anything goes” zone. Be careful-Bergamot is sure to make them crazy and want to devour every inch of you.

And being immersed at all times in all things fragrant, I am also including a few scents that are my favorites off the shelf. From” frugal to floral”, here are my picks for the budget conscious to the indulgently fabulous.

COTY VANILLA MUSK In a pinch, you can get this at any drugstore for a quick pick me up-a simple, classic blend.
For a middle-of-the-road; no-buyers-remorse price of $14.00.

FRESH CANNABIS SANTAL and SERGE LUTENS DAIM BLOND are my sexy go-to’s. Cannabis Santal is a complex fragrance labeled for men but with my unisex background in blending, I have worn it for years for its smoky, heavy yet citrus-y burn off. DAIM BLOND is a fruity fragrance that has a strong suede influence. It feels like a nice sweater. This sophisticated perfume is available at Barneys.
For a rich floral indulgence I LOVE FREDERIC MALLE CARNAL FLOWER! This is NOT that nauseatingly overpowering floral, we can all name one of those! This is sex! This tuberose blend captures the real scent of the flower with a little dirty grit. This yummy creaminess is also available at Barneys New York or at Frederic Malle. So go ahead, get gritty.

Now, it is time for YOU to be the sexiest woman in the room! It all starts from within. Believe in yourself, honor yourself, welcome love into your heart, and worship the body of God in you.

The power in me salutes the power in you,

Natalie Bolton

SoulCycle is a spiritual cardio party… huh?

SoulCycle is a spiritual cardio party… huh?

This entry has geographic challenges for a lot of you but for those of us living on the East Coast (New York) or West Coast (Los Angeles) count yourself lucky. Why? Because it’s home to the now cult phenom cycle studio SoulCycle.

My first SoulCycle class was a result of sheer curiosity after creating a custom 5 Free nail polish color by my company tenoverten – www.tenoverten.com for SoulCycle. A brilliant yellow to match their signature energizing color with a hint of shimmer. I was intrigued by this spin studio that has a booming retail brand that sells apparel, candles, towels, nail polish, and more. Then after one class I realized why… it’s not just any spin studio. It’s a spiritual cardio party on a bike!

With super instructor MB Regan at the helm I ungracefully pedaled my way thru a forty-five minute heart pumping, music thumping, nausea inducing class. I was mostly fueled on by the incredible energy and rhythm of MB, she’s got dance moves on the bike your wouldn’t think possible. MB gets the class fully pumped up with a music playlist so good that even while you’re pushing through the pain you find yourself singing a verse or two, when you can catch your breath. She believes you can do it, there is no failure in the room when you’re at least trying. And so I was determined not to give up amongst a pack of cardio warriors.  And when it was over I felt proud, strong, and even more determined to get better, the seed was planted and I’m now hooked. After having back surgery just over a year ago, cardio had become my nemesis. Any impact driven cardio gave me days of pain and slowly my will to do any cardio at all waned, until now. I still modify a few moves in the choreography to protect my back and I suggest if you give class a try to underachieve when you first start, you’ll thank me. There are people who do deadly doubles, 2 back-to-back classes, not me. I stick to my one class, working harder in 45 minutes than I have in years and seeing the results.

Not only do my pre-surgery jeans fit more comfortably now, it makes my mind feel better. According to research aerobic exercise is proven to increasing brain serotonin levels, no matter what exercise, so hit the road, bike, elliptical, or anything that gets your heart rate up to improve mental clarity and mood.

Owner Elizabeth Cutler explains what sets SoulCycle apart. “You not only get an amazing cardio workout and burn between 400-700 calories, but you also strengthen your core and tone your upper body using hand weights on the bike. The exercise program focuses on the “energy of the pack” and creates a strong community bond between the riders. The rhythm-based rides hosted in candlelit studios make riders feel like they are partying in a healthy nightclub.”

First Class Only $15.00

1 Single Class $25.00

5 Class Series (45 day expiration) $125.00

Larger Class Series Available – See SoulCycle website

“How to GLOW from the inside out” by Emily Fletcher of Ziva Meditation

Think of the most beautiful person that you know.  Go on… picture her. What is it that you find beautiful about her?  While physical tastes may differ there are a few things that most of us find attractive across the board – confidence, joy and kindness. These things turn on your inner glow in a way that everyone around you will notice.

So how do we add more confidence, joy and kindness to our lives? Meditation. Yep, Meditation!  Why?  Meditation is a powerful stress relieving tool.  Stress will zap your inner glow and rob you of the experience of enjoying the RIGHT NOW.  Stress is making us sick, it is making us crazy and it is aging us at alarming rates.

One hundred bucks says that the beautiful person that you pictured earlier is NOT running around complaining, busy and stressed.

“But I don’t have time to meditate, I don’t want people to think I am a freak, I can’t stop my mind from thinking…”

Here is the good news.  No one can stop their mind from thinking, so take that pressure off yourself.  The only time the brain activity totally stops is when we are dead.  The time that you invest in meditation will pay of in dividends with what you are able to accomplish afterwards.  More people than you think are already doing it, loving it and getting their inner glow on.

How does meditation help you get your glow on?

Meditation is custom designed to dissolve stress.  We all know that a good night’s sleep is one of natures best beauty secrets.  What if you knew that meditation delivers rest that is 5 times deeper than sleep!  The body wants to thank you for that deep rest, and it thanks you by dissolving old stresses lodged in the nervous system.  Less stress in the nervous system allows you to be more present in the right now which is the only place that happiness actually resides.

Meditation also reverses body age by up to 8 YEARS! Sounds crazy right? But here is the thing.  Stress ages us in an expeditious fashion.  If you want proof of that, look at a picture of any president when they take office and a picture of them one year after being in office.  All of them seem to age ten years in just one.

If you want to practice right now here is a simple exercise you can try.  Let us know how it goes for you.

1. Find and comfy chair and close your eyes

2. Take 30 seconds of just chilling

3. Gently start thinking the word “one” silently to yourself

4. Repeat for 5 min (feel free to check your watch, don’t    set an alarm)

5. Know that thoughts will come, that is ok.  Keep coming back “one”.

Just five minutes a day of quiet time can do wonders in an age of ever increasing demands and distractions.  Take charge of your inner glow and try it now!

The Recipe For True Beauty by Spiritual Counselor, Julie Zipper

The recipe for True Beauty is awareness of your True Self. I promise. You won’t find it in a bottle, a brush, a boyfriend or any outside Source. And yet, when you find it within yourself all those other things become more enjoyable, more celebratory, more an extension of who you are.

To discover your True Self, swing on a swing, drop your toes into the Ocean, gaze up at clouds, climb mountains. Listen to crickets, a beloved’s heartbeat, or the sound of a baby laughing. Feel your heart open and expand.

To discover your True Self, begin to listen to your mind, too. That’s right. Listen to all the ways it tells you of your unworthiness, your not enough-ness. Listen to its endless list of fears and doubts. Let it show you its patterns and grooves that go way back to Mom and/or Dad. Feel the ickiness of listening to this aspect of you. Become aware of what it does to your body, and to your heart. Become aware that you are not now, nor have you ever been these thoughts.

To discover your True Self, drop down deeper, past the mind and listen to the still small voice within. It might sound like a heartbeat or breath to begin. . . but underneath that is an energetic field that is who you really are. Listen to its gentleness and its power. Listen as it tells you what’s really true. How will you know it’s your still small voice? It will tell you things that feel freeing. You are more than enough. You are Love. You are Joy. You are an abundant being. You are One with all of Life.

Listen to this every day, and you will remember who you are. You will remember that you are here on purpose, on time, and with amazing gifts to give this world. Listen to this voice, and you will walk with a radiance and beauty that uplifts, inspires and illuminates the entire cosmos.

Beauty Examined by Intuitive Life Coach, Lori Bertazzon

 www.CourtneyLindbergPhotography.com
Photograph By: Courtney Lindberg Photography, Model: Tommee May

As an intuitive life coach and facilitator, I help people identify the limiting beliefs and patterns that stand in the way from them living the life they truly desire. One tool I often use in sessions, is examining words and what those words mean to us literally, socially and most importantly, what beliefs we associate with those words. They become clues, a source of invaluable information of what maybe keeping us stuck in a negative cycle. Today, I examined the word beauty for myself and what it has meant to me in my life. I began by writing what the word means to me. Like journaling, the style is a freeform writing of thoughts and feelings to explore my conscious and subconscious beliefs of the word. If I need a jump start I will look the word up in the dictionary and riff from there. I write as long as I need. From there, I can stand back as a compassionate observer and determine what, if any of these beliefs, I want to keep or change.

Initially, my known beliefs came to mind. In my early years, the belief I was given was that presentation, looking pretty and put together was vastly important. It didn’t help that my formative adolescent years were in the 80’s, in an environment where external beauty was over-valued (as if it wasn’t anywhere else). What you wore, drove and how you looked was currency. My external beauty was more important than who I was or what I wanted. In response, I went to the other extreme. My belief became beauty was shallow, plastic, not of value, unintelligent, false, and dangerous. How were you going to fix what you have and make it more beautiful? Beautiful by who’s standard? Anybody’s other than mine apparently.

What I discovered from my own writing and self-examination, was that in an effort to protect myself from the weight of those external values of beauty, I shut down my own value on what I liked or found beautiful. I even limited the exploration and expression of my own physical body and experience in the world by how I cared for my body, decorated it or my environment. I kept it to myself because then others could’t judge it or destroy it. It would be safe there, unexpressed and unrealized. Ouch!

So what would it mean if I allowed myself to explore my beauty outwardly? Based on those old beliefs, it would mean I was vulnerable to being told I am wrong, shallow, vain, or of a different or lesser value. These limiting beliefs have compromised my relationship to knowing and appreciating my inner and outer beauty, everything that makes me, me. Instead, I diminished my relationship to what I value and suppressed my authentic self, my sense of my own beauty.

If I allow myself to let go of all the old beliefs I have associated with beauty, all the old fears, emotional blocks and resistance, what am I left with? What would it mean?

It would mean I value what I feel and what I like. I value my self and what I love. I trust my self. I believe and I know I am safe. I believe in my value and my worth simply because I am. After examining my beliefs about beauty, the word now means the fullest, authentic expression of my self.

Do you know what beauty means to you?
