I know I’ve already reviewed L’Oreal’s Infallible Le Gloss, but this stuff is so good that I had to snatch up more colors. Which lead me to discovering my new favorite long wearing red lip color. Just in time for the Holidays.
Red Fatale is a true red, neutral and opaque, that works with every skintone. In fact, it’s a Gwen Stefani red and she knows her reds. Now, I must confess. I tend to get lazy about wearing bright colors because I hate having to touch them up all day. But this gloss is not only super long-wearing, resisting fading and feathering, it’s also hydrating. But my favorite quality is that L’Oreal has nailed the perfect tone, the perfect hue. It actually makes your skin look brighter, more rested, more radiant. This gloss is truly glow worthy.
But don’t despair if this red seems overwhelming. Try Cherry Flash (340) for a softer less opaque shade of red. I just couldn’t resist. I had to have both!
Tip: Line your pucker first to get a more defined shape. And don’t rub your lips together when applying. It’ll prevent pushing the color to the edges. Just coat the lips with a layer or two and that’s it. You are good to go for hours!
The future in lip gloss is here with the L’Oreal Infallible collection. This long-wearing lip gloss lives up to its name. Lasting for hours while retaining the gloss in lip gloss. Most long-wearing products fail to live up to their claims or to maintain their glossiness. They end up dry, patchy, faded and gummy.
L’Oreal’s Infallible beats them to a pulp, with zero dryness, high shine, and relentless longevity! A feat in lip technology. Not only that but both the original and the plumping version have a plumping effect. And you only need one coat. Lips look defined, full, and lustrous for hours on end. It’s no wonder it was Allure’s 2012 Readers Choice Award Winner!
May favorite colors: Infallible Lip Glos in Bloom and Infallible Plumped Lip Gloss in Plumped Coral.
One con: The 8 hour claims seems like a bit of an exaggeration in my opinion. 3-5 is the wear I give. But I certainly haven’t tried anything that comes that close before.

Nars Blush in Orgasm is legendary for a reason! Year after year, it has been an Allure Best of Beauty Winner, InStyle’s Best Beauty Buys, and a Beauty Editor favorite. It’s no surprise that you’ll rarely come across a makeup artist’s kit that doesn’t include this! Why? This universally flattering peachy pink shade, with its subtle golden sheen, brightens the face instantly. Your left with a healthy flush that look freshly sunkissed, thanks to this sheer yet buildable powder blush. And the color is built like the Energizer Bunny. It just goes and goes and goes, resisting fading for hours on end.
To use, lightly run a fan brush or skunk brush over the blush, since Nars blushes are so highly pigmented. Then sweep it over the center of the cheekbones and softly blend it out. You can also dust some into the eyelid crease, temples, hairline, jawline, and bridge of the nose. One swipe yields a soft wash of color. Two or more swipes builds the intensity. SInce there is a good dose of shimmer here, for daytime you may want to buff it out with a sponge to take it down a few notches.
This iconic Nars blush can add elegant dimension, definition, and the warmest glow to your skin! And because you need so little, thanks to the intense pigmentation, one of blush will last you years. If you don’t already own this, try it for the perfect glow!
P.S. Not to be confused with Nars Super Orgasm Blush. Way too glittery in my opinion.
So this product was just named one of Allure’s 2012 beauty breakthrough products so naturally, I’m intrigued. Especially because as of late I’ve been on a search for a new amazing mascara. My go to for years has been Lancome Definicils and I still love this mascara. However, I wanted to find a more dramatic option for night time or when the mood calls for it. A couple months back I wrote about the Kevyn Aucoin tube technology mascara. I wrote a positive review as I loved, and still do, the rick black color of this mascara. My only warning after now using it a while longer and in different circumstances is, don’t wear it to the workout! I went to a spin class with this mascara on and unbeknownst to me, after 20 minutes of talking to people after class, I then went to the restroom too see black spider-like remnants of mascara on my face. To bad no one had the said anything to me, I was so embarrassed.
The next mascara I tried which I am liking quiet a lot is Stila glamorous mascara. It has a nice thickness to it without feeling to heavy for daytime. And, it opens up the eye a lot with good lengthening. However, if you apply more than a couple of coats it does start to clump a little bit.
Which brings us to the much anticipated and well priced CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Mascara. Now, this mascara is not out yet, it hits shelves November 1st so this is not an official review. It’s a PRE-REVIEW and I’d love for you to join me in testing it when it hits stores. Send us feedback and let us know if you think the buzz is true!
Review from November Allure:
True story: As much as we love our mascara, one un-lucky editor at Allure stopped wearing it altogether because she couldn’t find a formula that didn’t clump. That is, until we gave her this new CoverGirl mascara with a brush designed to prevent clump formation entirely.
How it works: Regular mascaras need ingredients to build volume so they inevitably will create clumps. The CoverGirl team came up with a solution: They measured the size of the average visible mascara clump (it’s 325 microns, if you were wondering) and arranged the bristles so close together that clumps couldn’t form. “You can swipe it on repeatedly to build the necessary volume without ever worrying about the mess.
COUPON ALERT – The November issue of both Allure & Lucky both have a $3 off coupon for any two CoverGirl products excluding trial/travel size.
Want great makeup? Then you need great tools. And the king of great tools is the Beautyblender sponge.
Invented by top Hollywood make up artist Rea Ann Silva, this applicator will give your makeup an airbrushed look. Thanks to the ergonomic teardrop shape and its suede texture, this sponge blends out foundation beautifully and buffs out excess makeup for a more natural streak-free finish! Nimble enough for getting into corners like your nose and eyes, and broad enough to quickly cover larger areas. And unlike all the other disposable sponges that rapidly disintegrate, this eco-friendly and non-dsposable blender is easy to clean so it lasts you years. And it’s also latex free, non-allergenic and odor free. It’s not surprising this is an Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner!
My favorite way to use it, is to wet the sponge first before applying foundation and then stippling in the makeup. Just press/bounce the Beautyblender on the skin. You can even add a twisting motion when you want to work it in even more. The results are amazing and effortless! Glowing natural looking skin, while maintaining your foundation’s coverage. No one will know your wearing makeup with this simple technique!
Wash it regularly, to prevent bacterial buildup. No need for anything fancy. Just use your facial cleanser to keep it clean.
