We’ve all been told about the vast advantages of Mother Nature’s great gift, H2O = WATER. There are no added ingredients, modifications, cost, or fancy packaging necessary to reap the benefits. So here’s a refresher for the most basic yet effective tip to adding more life to your skin.
Water is your body’s principal chemical component and makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water. It helps us look younger when our skin is properly hydrated. It creates a more radiant complexion, carries nutrients to cells in the body, flushes out toxins, improves circulation and blood flow, and lubricates your joints.
When we are dehydrated, the loss of hydration in skin shows in all sorts of ways – dryness, tightness, flakiness. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling. Water is essential to maintaining skin moisture!
With all that said, I am guilty of not always staying hydrated but am making a new commitment to follow my own recommendations!
- Follow the 8×8 rule! Drink a minimum of eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day (about 1.9 liters).
